Miaoyu

Miaoyu is a major character in ''Dream of the Red Chamber'', one of the classics of Chinese fiction. She is young, very beautiful. She was compelled by her illness to become a nun, and shelters herself under the nunnery in Grandview Garden to dodge political affairs. She have no alternative but to become a nun. So she always still regard herself as a girl in youth like other girls with youthful vigor, not a nun. She likes Zhuangzi's article.

Miaoyu is unusual. She lives sacrosanct - She do not erase her edges and corners in her character, lives harmonious with the nature, with her heart. That makes she regard herself sacrosanct and inviolable, esteems herself. So, She is very proud and aloof because she think herself is, and she does be accomplished. Therefore, she looks down on common people. She is also a very talented poet.

She looks down common people, but not Xing Xiuyan and Baoyu. Instead, she esteems them because she think they are not common. Perhaps because she appreciates Baoyu's following his own heart, such as loving Lin Daiyu openly and publicly. Redologies think she will finally play a big role in the original work's ending. She is one of the most important women in Jia Baoyu's life.

In 's ending, She is abduct by robbers, and Jia Xichun becomes her firend. And this abduction lead to Jia Xichun's decision to become a nun in her place. But many point out that his ending is conflict to preceding chapters, Rouge Inkstone's comment, and original Cao Xueqin's design.
