Jia Lian

Jia Lian is a primary character in Dream of the Red Chamber. He is the husband of Wang Xifeng and manages the Jia household inside and out with her. Lian is the son of Jia She and his wife, Lady Hsing. He is also Baoyu's elder cousin and the eldest grandchild of the Dowager. Throughout the novel, Lian takes at least two concubines, like Second Sister Yu and Qiuteng, and has a daughter by Xifeng, Jia Qiaojie. Lian is described as a good but womanizing man.
